News Antony Sher to Star in Royal Shakespeare Company's Othello Sir Antony Sher, who received a 1997 Tony Award nomination for his performance in Stanley, will star as Iago in the Royal Shakespeare Company's upcoming production of Othello.

Directed by Gregory Doran, the production will play the Swan Theatre Feb. 11-April 3, 2004. South African actor Sello Maake ka Ncube will play the title role of the Shakespearean classic. The actor is currently starring in the West End production of The Lion King. Antony Sher received Olivier Awards for his performances in the London productions of Torch Song Trilogy and Stanley and an Evening Standard Award for his work in Richard III. His numerous theatrical credits also include roles in John Paul George Ringo and Bert, The Glad Hand, Prayer for My Daughter, Cloud Nine, Goosepimples, King Lear, Moliere, Tartuffe, Maydays, Red Noses, The Merchant of Venice, The Revenger's Tragedy, Hello and Goodbye, Singer, Tamburlaine the Great, Travesties, True West, The Trial, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Uncle Vanya and Titus Andronicus.
