The theatre is keeping any details about the search confidential until the new AD is named.

After a thorough executive search that began witht the formation of a search committee in September 2000, the board of directors at the Alliance Theatre Company in Atlanta will be voting in their new artistic director on March 26. The theatre is keeping any details about the search confidential until the new AD is named. Some 75 local residents comprise the board of Atlanta's Alliance Thetare. All of the board members are expected to participate in a special meeting in Atlanta to conduct the final vote for the top creative slot at Alliance. While a theatre spokesperson was tight-lipped about the final decision, the general mood at Alliance seems to be enthusiastic. “It’s an interesting choice,” a theatre source said.

Outgoing artistic director Kenny Leon has announced Alliance's 2001-02 season. Leon will be freelancing as a director for the next year and will be returning to the Alliance later in the 2001-02 season to direct The Wiz.
