Single ticket sales at the Atlantic Theater for the ATC production of American Buffalo have surpassed those of the theatre company's previous record-breaking show, The Beauty Queen of Leenane.

"By the time previews for American Buffalo began on Friday (March 3), [the theatre] had topped the number of tickets that Beauty Queen had sold by the time of their first preview," a production source told Playbill On-Line.

As reported earlier, the Atlantic Theater Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo started previews March 3 in New York City. Just transferred from a successful run at London's Donmar Warehouse, the limited engagement opens March 16 and runs through April 23.

Directed by Neil Pepe, American Buffalo stars William H. Macy, Philip Baker Hall and Mark Webber.
