News Avenue Q Ups Ante for "One Night Stand" Prize with Broadway Debut; Three Hopefuls Head to NY The prizes for Avenue Q's "One Night Stand" contest on Broadway just got bigger and now three aspiring puppets will venture to New York to get their big break, with the Grand Prize Winner to make an on-stage appearance in the show.

"What if there was a 'One Night' vacancy on Avenue Q?," poses the new sweepstake competition. "Does your puppet have what it takes to join the famous cast of characters?"

Ten finalists have been chosen and each "Puppet Profile" is posted on the show's website, at www.avenueq.com, where visitors of the "Qmmunity" may vote (through Jan. 15 only) to determine the winner. The winner will be announced Jan. 17 and the prize will be rewarded in March.

The finalists are Miss Greta Green, Woodrow J. Larchbottom III, Barry, Maurice Tipo, Leland, Kitty Swallows, Abner Smooch, Dr. Fred Holman, Bryan Seacrest and Senti L. Singer.

Three winners (and a guest) will each receive a trip to New York (includes airfare and a two night stay at the Times Square Renaissance Hotel), dinner at a famous Times Square Restaurant, tickets to see the 2004 Best Musical Tony Award winner, Avenue Q, on Broadway and a backstage pass so that the puppets may meet the cast.

Original Broadway cast member Rick Lyon created the puppets seen in the show as well as the many celebrity recreations used in promotions. For more information, visit http://www.avenueq.com.
