Mark Ax will direct the Acting Company's production of Moliere's comedy, Tartuffe, based on a 1998 Julliard production helmed by the late Garland Wright.

Wright, one of Julliard's directing teachers, directed on Broadway (Sex and Longing, Off-Broadway (Vanities, The Trial, On the Verge) and around the country, serving as artistic director of Minnesota's Guthrie Theatre from 1985-95. Tartuffe was his final production at Julliard before he died of cancer July 22, 1998 at age 52.

Joining the the Acting Company's repertory May 25 will be Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, playing two performances. Acting Company artistic associate Penny Metropulos directs.

The current Acting Company company of actors includes Anne Bate, Tim Barker, Clark Scott Carmichael, Rayme Cornell, Kristen Gass, Christopher Jean, Charity Jones, John Kinsherf, Andrew McGinn, Garrett McKechnie, Dana Slamp, Jonathan Uffelman, Kevin Varner and Michael Wiggins.

Designing for both shows is Matthew Frey (lights). Susan Hilfery designs Tartuffe's costumes and Troy Hourie the sets. Designing Twelfth Night are Michalel Vaughn Sims (sets), Jeff Fender (costumes) and Faian Obispo (sound). Kim D. Sherman provides the original music. Tartuffe and Twelfth Night run through May 29.
