News Barbra Streisand Will Be Inducted Into California Hall of Fame Academy Award-winning actress and music icon Barbra Streisand is among the 2010 inductees into the California Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place Dec. 14 at the California Museum in Sacramento.

Streisand is among 14 individuals whose contributions, ranging from entertainment to science and philanthropy, will be recognized by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver. Each individual will be presented with the Spirit of California medal.

In addition to Streisand, the California Hall of Fame will induct Emmy-winning veteran comedienne Betty White, Oscar-winning film director James Cameron, country music legend Merle Haggard, author Anne Lamott, tennis player Serena Williams, investor John Doerr, Bank of America founder A. P. Giannini, former U.S. Secretary of State George Shultz, historian Kevin Starr, Levi Strauss, artist Wayne Thiebaud, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Governor Edmund G. "Pat" Brown.

The California Museum will also showcase memorabilia relating to the inductees, including costumes Streisand wore in "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever," "My Name Is Barbra" and "Yentl." Also on display will be albums, tickets, posters, a Broadway billboard from Funny Girl and her first contract with the Bon Soir.

The induction ceremony will be broadcast live Dec. 14 on the Comcast Hometown Network from 6-8 PM for California residents.

Barbra Streisand starred on Broadway in I Can Get It for You Wholesale and Funny Girl, earning Tony Award nominations for both performances. She received a 1970 Special Tony Award. The actress, composer and director has won two Academy Awards: for Best Actress in a Leading Role in "Funny Girl" and for Best Music, Original Song (with Paul Williams) for the "A Star Is Born" song "Evergreen." Her Grammy-winning recordings are numerous. Streisand is also a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors.
