Classic Arts News Berezovsky is Sick, Eduard Kunz to Sub in RSNO Engagement Pianist Boris Berezovsky has cancelled his appearance in tomorrow's Royal Scottish National Orchestra concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall after contracting a viral flu.
Twenty-six-year-old Eduard Kunz will be the soloist in Tchakovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, which was originally programmed. The Russian pianist recently won the 2007 George Enescu International and the Citt_ di Sulmona Piano Competitions with the work.

A past BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, Kunz made his orchestral debut at 10 and studied with Michail Khokhlov at the Gnessin School. He graduated in 2003 from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire as student of Andrey Diev, and continued his studies on s fellowship at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Kunz has also received the Dame Myra Hess, Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, and Hattori Foundation Awards in London.

The rest of RSNO's Saturday program also remains unchanged: Elgar's Enigma Variations and Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.
