Star of stage, screen and song, Bette Midler will appear on the "Charlie Rose" show July 7. Midler's stage work has been confined mainly to the concert arena, though her "Clams On The Half Shell Revue" played at the Minskoff in 1975. She has also starred in a television version of the musical Gypsy. Her many movies include "The Rose," "Beaches" and "Down and Out in Beverly Hills."

The Midler segment was originally broadcast March 3, 1999.

*July 8: Arthur Miller and Brian Dennehy (repeat, originally broadcast Feb. 25, 1999); and Kevin Spacey (repeat, originally broadcast May 19, 1999).
