It's opening night for the world-premiere production of the comedy Big Sky in the Gil Cates Theatre at Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, CA.

The show was written by Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros, a Pulitzer finalist as co-author of Omnium Gatherum, whose works include the 1995 Broadway play My Thing of Love.

Tony Award winning director John Rando (Urinetown) has staged the play, which began previews June 7 and is scheduled to complete a limited engagement scheduled through July 17.

Press materials describe the plot thus: “Five-star amenities and family fallout are on the itinerary as Jack races to land a life-changing deal during an Aspen getaway. But wide open spaces offer no place to hide as Jack's family fails to keep the truth and elements at bay. ... A poignant cautionary tale about the perils of pretense and the fragility of family.”
