Gregory Henderson's one-man show, Big Wind On Campus, will return to Chicago's Victory Gardens Studio Theatre, Dec. 19 to Jan. 26, 1997. The show, directed and co-conceived by Joseph Massa, offers Henderson as a variety of characters at a mythical Southern university. Among the men and women portrayed by Henderson are Bitsy the bleached blonde sorority girl, Bubba, the bronco-buster; J.K. The rubber-faced retiree, Priscilla, the man-weary, would-be meteorologist; Jake the Jesus-freak and Steve the drum major with happy hips.

Presented by New York's Turnip Theatre Company, Big Wind played in Chicago in August 1996 to mostly sold-out audiences. The show started eighteen months earlier as a one-character monologue called "Bitsy!". Expanded and re-named, Big Wind played at the New York cabaret Don't Tell Mama and won a 1995 Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Characterization. This Month ON STAGE theatre magazine named it one of the top 20 New York shows of 1995.

Gregory Henderson graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Yale School of Drama's International Acting Program at Oxford, England. His roles have ranged from Tom Sawyer to Hamlet to Miss Lonelyhearts to a sadomasochistic clown.

For tickets ($15-$20) to Big Wind On Campus at the Victory Gardens Studio on North Lincoln Avenue, call (773) 871-3000.
