News Billy Elliot's Álvarez Named HOLA Award Winner Billy Elliot Tony Award winner David Álvarez is among the winners of the 2009 HOLA Awards, which honor the work of Hispanic actors in the arts, entertainment and communications industry.

Founded in 1975, HOLA (Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors), strives for "an accurate, informed and non-stereotyped portrayal of Hispanic culture, people and heritage in theatre, film, television, radio and commercials." The 10th annual HOLA Awards will be presented Oct. 26 at the Players in Gramercy Park South.

Álvarez will receive HOLA's Special Recognition Award; others who will be recognized with that honor are Pregones Theater, actor Ricardo Gómez and the Univision network. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to actress and Thalia Spanish Theatre founder Silvia Brito and René Sánchez.

The 2009 HOLA Award recipients follow:
