Hall will discuss creating the "Billy Elliot" screenplay on which the musical is based. The half-hour program will also include a segment from the musical's second-act opener, "Merry Christmas, Mrs. Thatcher."

Directed by Stephen Daldry, Billy Elliot, with a score by Elton John, currently plays Broadway's Imperial Theatre.

This episode of "Theater Talk" debuts Jan. 16 at 1 AM (Saturday morning) on WNET/Thirteen with rebroadcasts scheduled on CUNY TV Channel 75 for Jan. 17 at 8:30 PM, Jan. 18 at 12:30 PM and Jan. 19 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
