PlayBlog Billy Joel Lets "Glee" Use His Music Music legend Billy Joel, who won a Tony Award for his orchestrations to Movin' Out, the Twyla Tharp dance musical based on his songs, has given the "Glee" team permission to use his catalog in a future episode.


Joel told Access Hollywood, "I said, ‘Yeah! Go ahead. Use my stuff.' I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?”

Joel said he did not know when any tribute episode might air, but he did say he would not appear on one. "I’m just not a big TV actor type of guy," Joel said. "I’m a piano player.”

Stage vet Neil Patrick Harris sang a duet with "Glee" star Matthew Morrison of Joel's "Piano Man" last season, in an appearance that recently won Harris an Emmy.
