Two musicals by the local Troubadour Theater Company will also be seen: Sophocles' twisted tragedy, Oedipus the King, will be melded with the music of Elvis Presley for their parody Oedipus the King, Mama! (Aug. 12-Sept. 27); and a new musical parody coupling Barry Manilow's music and the classic holiday tale of Frosty the Snowman in Frosty the Snow Manilow (Dec. 2, 2009-Jan. 17, 2010). Matt Walker directs both productions.
The West Coast premiere of Bill Semans and Roy M. Close's Exit Strategy, "the inspiring drama about older people discovering new dreams," will play Oct. 14-Nov. 15.
Souvenir, Stephen Temperley's Broadway play with music about tone-deaf socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, will sing out Jan. 27-Feb. 28, 2010.
In Bobrick's The Psychic, "a down-on-his-luck writer gets caught up in a murder mystery of sorts," March 17-April 19, 2010.
