Off-Broadway News Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Everybody Opens Feb. 21 The cast changes roles nightly in the award-winning playwright’s newest work at the Signature Theatre.

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ newest play Everybody officially opens February 21 at the Signature Theatre with direction by Lila Neugebauer. The play is inspired by the 15th Century morality play Everyman, and at each performance, the role of Everybody is chosen amongst the cast by lottery.

The Off-Broadway production began performances January 31 and is scheduled to run through March 12 in the Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

The cast of Everybody is made up of Jocelyn Bioh (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Obie Award winner Brooke Bloom (Cloud Nine), Michael Braun (The Crucible), Obie Award winner Marylouise Burke (Sideways), Louis Cancelmi (Blasted), Lilyana Tiare Cornell (Les Misérables), Obie Award winner David Patrick Kelly (Thérèse Raquin), Lakisha Michelle May (Boardwalk Empire), and Chris Perfetti (Cloud Nine).

The creative team features Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Gabriel Berry (costume design), Matt Frey (lighting design), and Brandon Wolcott (sound design). Amanda Spooner is the production stage manager. Casting is by Telsey + Company.

Jacobs-Jenkins, who was a 2016 MacArthur Fellow and the recipient of numerous prizes, is a resident playwright at the Signature Theatre.
