News Brel's Marshall Will Be Part of Dec. 1 Underground at the Beechman Gay Marshall, who was recently seen in the York Theatre Company's production of The Baker's Wife, has joined the line-up of artists who will be part of the Dec. 1 Saturday Night Underground, the new variety show hosted by director Ben Rimalower at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The series, which features interviews with and performances by a host of New York personalities, begins at 11 PM. Those scheduled to be part of the upcoming three-hour evening include Marshall as well as the previously announced Michael Arden (The Return of Jezebel James), Todd Buonopane (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Mintyfresh's Shawn Hollenbach.

Matt Castle will be the pianist for the evening, the final Underground planned for 2007.

Gay Marshall made her Broadway debut as Diana Morales in A Chorus Line and played Grizabella in the original French production of Cats. She appeared in the Goodspeed and Paper Mill productions of The Baker's Wife and received a Drama League Distinguished Performance Award nomination for her work in the Off-Broadway revival of Jacques Brel. . . . Her one-woman shows are titled Piaf: La Vie l'Amour and If I Were Me.

In New York Ben Rimalower has directed The Fabulous Life of a Size Zero; Joy; Snoopy!; And/or; Sodom the Musical; Look Ma, No Ears and staged readings for Second Stage, The York and EST. He also conceived and directed the award-winning Leslie Kritzer Is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue. There is no cover charge.
