O'Byrne will play a detective who works with the rebellious Jane Timoney (Maria Bello) on a tough New York police squad. Helen Mirren won two Emmy Awards for her performance as Jane in the original series, where the character's last name was Tennison.
O'Byrne won the Tony Award for Frozen and received additional nominations for his work in The Coast of Utopia, Doubt, The Lonesome West and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. Additional Broadway credits include Shining City and The Sisters Rosensweig.
