The cast album of the show is released that day on the Sh-K-Boom label. The boyz will be in the house at 5 PM.
The debut disc of the fictional boy band includes the tracks "We Are the Altar Boyz," "Rhythm in Me," "Church Rulez," "The Calling," "Miracle Song," "Everybody Fits," "Something About You," "Body, Mind and Soul," "La Vida Enternal," "Epiphany," "Number 918" and "I Believe."
Virgin Megastore Times Square is at 1540 Broadway (at 46th St.) in New York City.
"Altar Boyz, complete with MTV-ready looks, a penchant for dancing and the ability to drop the funk in five-part harmony is made up of five outstanding young men forever bound by the undeniable soul-stirring power of sweet pop music," according to the producers.
The "boyz" are Scott Porter as Matthew; Ryan Duncan as Juan; David Josefsberg as Abraham; Andy Karl as Luke, and Tyler Maynard as Mark. The show won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical Off-Broadway.
Music and lyrics are by Gary Adler & Michael Patrick Walker.
A national tour of the musical will launch this fall in Detroit.
