The musical, which will run through June 25, will star Brittney Morello as Betty Jean, Lara Seibert (Broadway's Young Frankenstein) as Cindy Lou, Danielle Erin Rhodes as Suzy and Morgan Smith as Missy.
The Marvelous Wonderettes, according to press notes, "takes audiences to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Suzy and Missy share hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. Their lives and loves are revealed as the girls perform classic 50s pop songs. After intermission, 'The Marvelous Wonderettes' are reunited at their ten-year reunion and delight the audience with music from the 1960s."
The musical, with a book by Roger Bean, opens Maine State Music Theatre’s 53rd season, which also includes Annie, Xanadu and The Wiz.
