News Broadway Bares 20 Set for June 20 Broadway's sexiest night of the year is set for June 20 at the famed Roseland Ballroom.

Two Broadway Bares shows will be presented that Sunday: at 9:30 PM and midnight. The Roseland Ballroom is located in New York City at 239 West 52nd Street.

Broadway Bares was created by Jerry Mitchell, the Tony-winning choreographer most recently represented on Broadway with Legally Blonde. The 19th annual Broadway Bares, which was held June 21, 2009, raised $808,819 for BC/EFA.

A $1 million fundraising goal has been set for the 20th edition of Broadway Bares.

In a statement Jerry Mitchell said, "Broadway Bares has always had extremely generous audiences who have helped us raise over $6.5 million to benefit BC/EFA. But this year to celebrate our 20th edition, I want to go all out, so I’m challenging all the Bares hotties and all our fans to help us raise $1 million to benefit BC/EFA. Sunday’s Solo Strips [at Splash in Manhattan] is just the first in a series of nationwide events that will help us reach this goal. In exchange, I promise to make Broadway Bares 20 the best one yet.”

A little Bares history: Nearly 20 years ago, Legally Blonde's Mitchell, who once danced nearly naked on a drum in The Will Rogers Follies, found himself inspired to take it all off to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and Broadway Bares was born. The first year, he and seven other Broadway dancers raised $8,000 for the charitable organization. Ticket information will be announced shortly. For more information visit www.BroadwayCares.org.
