News Broadway Creatives Will Head to St. Louis Muny for Summer Season; Gary Griffin Will Direct Into the Woods The creative teams for the seven musicals that will comprise the 2015 summer season at St. Louis' The Muny, the country's largest outdoor theatre, have been announced.

The 97th summer season in Forest Park will kick off June 15, 2015, with My Fair Lady, which will continue through June 21. Mark Bruni will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Chris Bailey and musical direction by Ben Whiteley.

Hairspray, which runs June 23-30, will be directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges with musical direction by Charlie Alterman. Gordon Greenberg will direct Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, which will play the outdoor venue July 6-12. The limited engagement will also feature choreography by Denis Jones and music direction by James Moore.

Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story, which will be seen July 13-19. The production will also have music direction by Michael Horsley; Josh Walden is choreographer.

Gary Griffin will lead Muny audiences Into The Woods July 21-27. The Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical will have choreography by Chris Bailey and music direction by Brad Haak.

Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, featuring direction by Matt Lenz and choreography by Vince Pesce, will be offered July 29-Aug. 7. Ben Whiteley is the music director. The summer season will conclude with Oklahoma!, running Aug. 10-16. Rob Ruggiero will direct the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic with music direction by Kevin Stites.

 

Holiday Inn, The Buddy Holly Story and Into the Woods are Muny premieres.

New season tickets will be available beginning March 7, 2015, at the Muny box office in Forest Park, with single tickets going on sale May 30.
