The 7 PM telecast will be hosted by Dana Tyler, who will also interview several of the performers who took part in the recent free concert. This year's concert saluted the leading men of Broadway and boasted performances by Brent Barrett, Mario Cantone, Michael Cerveris, Raul Esparza, Dan Fogler Hunter Foster, Victor Garber, Chester Gregory II, Cheyenne Jackson, Marc Kudisch, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christopher Sieber and Tom Wopat as well as country music singer Billy Currington. The evening also included special appearances by Sweet Charity's Christina Applegate and the Radio City Rockettes. The hour-long TV broadcast will feature tunes by Broadway legends John Kander and the late Fred Ebb and Cy Coleman. Scott Wittman — of Hairspray fame — directed the evening, which was viewed by more than 15,000 attendees in Bryant Park.
The television special is part of an ongoing partnership with NYC & Company, The League of American Theatres and Producers and CBS 2.
