LOS ANGELES -- A limited engagement of Lanford Wilson's Burn This opens March 14 at the Hollywood Court Theatre, directed by Joel Anderson.
The production stems from a reading at "Interactively," the annual staged play reading festival at Interact Theatre Company. It is produced by Down Neck Productions in association with Interact.
The cast includes James Calvert, Andi Carnick, Brendan Ford and Tony Rizzoli.
Burn This is an exploration of the 'opposites attract (and repel)' theme. It premiered at the Mark Taper Forum in Jan. 1987, starring John Malkovich and Joan Allen, and opened on Broadway in October of that year with the same cast (and won a Tony Award for Allen). It was also produced in London in 1990 with Malkovich. Wilson is currently writing the screenplay for the film version of Burn This.
The play is performed Fri. and Sat. at 8 PM and Sun. at 7 PM at the theatre, located in a Methodist church at 6817 Franklin Ave. For tickets, $18, call (818) 789-TIXX. -- By Willard Manus
