News By Strouse! Bostwick, Edelman, Gravitte, Luker and Mason Sing at Carnegie Hall April 3 Once Upon a Time and Tomorrow: The Best of Charles Strouse is the title of the April 3 Carnegie Hall concert that pays tribute to the Tony Award-winning composer of Annie, Applause and Bye Bye Birdie.

Presented by and featuring The New York Pops — conducted by Martin Yates — the concert will begin at 8 PM in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium.

Those scheduled to lend their talents to the evening include Barry Bostwick, Gregg Edelman, Tony winner Debbie Gravitte, Rebecca Luker, Karen Mason, Emma Rowley and Eric Jordan Young. The concert also features the Young People's Chorus of New York City under the direction of Francisco J. Núñez.

Charles Strouse, who turned 80 June 7, 2008, won Best Score Tony Awards for Annie (with lyricist Martin Charnin) and Applause (with Lee Adams). His other musicals include Bye Bye Birdie, Applause, "It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman!", Bring Back Birdie, Annie Warbucks, Golden Boy, A Broadway Musical, I and Albert, Charlie and Algernon, Rags, Dance a Little Closer and All American.
