Featuring Tony Award-winning book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro (Nice Work If You Can Get It; I Love You, You're Perfect...) and Tony-winning music and lyrics by David Bryan of Bon Jovi fame, Memphis – about a soulful, white radio DJ and his love for a black singer at the dawn of the Civil Rights movement – will run Nov. 14-23. Cabrillo will also stage its own resident production of Disney's Mary Poppins, based on the P.L. Travers book and the Walt Disney film, which has a book by Julian Fellowes, original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, with additional songs by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. It runs April 17-16, 2015.
Also planned is the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Oklahoma!, running July 17-26, 2015; and Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Company, presented Jan. 23-Feb. 8, 2015.
