News Candide's Reichard and Worsham Make Barnes and Noble Appearance March 24 In anticipation of the New York City Opera production of Candide, the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble will host an in-store performance March 24 at 7:30 PM.

Set to appear will be Candide stars Daniel Reichard and Lauren Worsham, who portray Candide and Cunegonde, respectively. Also on hand will be NYCO dramaturg Cori Ellison and Jamie Bernstein, daughter of Leonard Bernstein, for a discussion following the performances.

Presented at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center April 8-20, Candide stars Judith Blazer as The Old Lady, The Producers' Richard Kind as Dr. Pangloss/Voltaire, Jessica Wright (Broadway's LoveMusik, Company and Sweeney Todd) as Paquette, baritone Kyle Pfortmiller as Maximillian and Lielle Berman, who will share the role of Cunegonde with Worsham.

Completing the Candide cast are Christopher Jackson (Lion), Peter Samuel (Huntsman), Robert Ousley (Baron), Eric Michael Gillett (Don Issachar), William Ledbetter (Don 2) and John Paul Almon (Don 3). Arthur Masella directs the Harold Prince production with choreography by Patricia Birch. George Manahan will conduct the orchestra. The staging will also feature sets by Clarke Dunham, costumes by Judith Dolan, lighting by Ken Billington and sound by Abe Jacob.

Candide features music by Leonard Bernstein, a book by Hugh Wheeler, lyrics by Richard Wilbur with additional lyrics by Bernstein, John Latouche and Stephen Sondheim.
