On Oct. 28, an all-star cast will come together in a production of The Women for a special one-off charity performance at the Old Vic Theatre.
The Women was written by author, editor, playwright, journalist, congresswoman, and diplomat Clare Boothe Luce and is a witty satire about upper-class women in New York. In 1936, the play began a two-year run at the Ethyl Barrymore Theatre in New York.
The cast will include Diana Rigg, Zoe Wanamaker, Helena Bonham Carter, and Joan Collins. The production is being directed by Jude Kelly of the West Yorkshire Playhouse, and proceeds will go to the cancer charities CancerBACUP and Cancerkin.
Tickets for the show are priced at £85 or £125, which includes a champagne reception and the post-performance party. Tickets are available on the special Gala Hotline on 020 7830 2773.
The Women is receiving a Broadway revival this fall at the Roundabout Theatre Company. The cast includes Kristen Johnston, Cynthia Nixon, Jennifer Tilly and Rue McClanahan.
