News Casting Announced for FreeFall Theatre's Staging of Frogs Casting has been announced for freeFall Theatre's upcoming production of The Frogs, the revamped version of Stephen Sondheim and Burt Shevelove's Aristophanes-inspired 1974 musical oddity, which will begin performances Feb. 3 at freeFall Theatre's new studio theatre in Saint Petersburg, FL.

Directed by Eric Davis, performances will continue through Feb. 20.

The cast will comprise Jorge Acosta, Dick Baker, James Berkley, Kerry Lynn Foley, Aleshea Harris, Colte Julian, Joel Martin, Becca McCoy and Matthew McGee.

The Frogs was adapted by Stephen Sondheim and Burt Shevelove and later more freely adapted by Nathan Lane.

According to freeFall Theatre, "In this seldom-produced gem of musical theatre, Dionysos, God of Wine and Theatre, is disenchanted by the lack of passion on Athenian stages and sets himself on a journey to the underworld to find a great dramatist to save the world. Convinced that the words of a brilliant playwright will rally the people to stand up against injustice, he holds a contest to find his champion. The piece is at once a hymn to the transformative power of the theatre and an uproarious satirical comedy."

freeFall Theatre is located at 6099 Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg. For ticketing information visit freefalltheatre.com.
