Ken Marini directs the fresh adaptation for the Pennsylvania equity company. Previews will begin March 11 and officially open March 13; the production runs through May 3. Hartford's two-hour adaptation, which premiered in Arizona in spring 2008, "tames the massive historical novel, and moves frequently between Paris and London from 1759 to the end of the eighteenth century," according to press notes.
Michael Stewart Allen and Kevin Bergen, star as Charles Darnay and Sydney Carton, respectively, in a cast that also features Peter DeLaurier (Defarge), Mary Elizabeth Scallen (Madame Defarge), Julianna Zinkel (Lucie Manette), Stephen Novelli (Doctor Manette), Mark Lazar (Gaspard), Paul Meshejian (Marquis), Marcia Saunders (Miss Pross) and Tom Teti (Mr. Lorry).
