Inspired by and including submissions from women of all walks of life, the world premiere Maidens, Mothers and Crones: Voices of Women From the Midwest — at Williamston Theatre in mid-Michigan — will attempt to explore the experience of modern Midwestern women while looking at the history that has influenced them.
The production will open May 16 and run through June 1.
Created by Tony Caselli, Annie Martin, and director Suzi Regan, the show is the first installment of Williamston Theatre's new series Voices from the Midwest. According to the company, over the next three years the series will try to "explore the challenges and gifts of a life in the American Midwest."
After-show talkbacks May 8-11 with director Regan will also allow the voices of Michigan audience members to be heard.
The production team includes set and lighting designer Dan Walker and costume designer Lori Sands, with music by Suzi Regan. Williamston Theatre is mid-Michigan's newest professional theatre company. It is located at 122 S. Putnam Street in Williamston, MI. For more information visit www.williamstontheatre.org or call (517) 655-7469.
