News Celebration of Folk Music, Lonesome Traveller, Opens Tonight Off-Broadway 59E59 Theaters presents the New York premiere of Lonesome Traveller, a musical journey through the history of folk music in America, from 1920's Appalachia to the nightclubs of New York and San Francisco. Written and directed by James O'Neil, the show features nine singer/musicians and classic folk songs.

Lonesome Traveller celebrates the enduring popularity of folk music by tracing its roots and exploring its legacy for social change and revolution. The show will feature the performance of classing songs such as “Goodnight, Irene,” “This Land Is Your Land,” “Puff the Magic Dragon,” "Baby Blue" and “We Shall Overcome."

The production features arrangements by Ton Award-nominee Dan Wheetman (It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues) and orchestrations by George Grove of The New Kingston Trio. Trevor Wheetman is the musical director.

The cast features talented actor/multi-instrumentalists Matty Charles, Sylvie Davidson, Jamie Drake, Justin Flagg, Samuel Gelfer, Anthony Manough, Nicholas Mongiardo-Cooper, Jennifer Leigh Warren, and Trevor Wheetman.

The design team includes Thomas S. Giamario (scenic and lighting design), Jonathan Burke (sound design), Pamela Shaw (costume design), Dave Mickey (multimedia design), Marty Kopulsky (hair and wig design), and T. Theresa Scarano (prop design). The Production Stage Manager is Linda M. Tross
