Directed, hosted and produced by John Znidarsic, the free concert will spotlight the songs of up-and-coming composer/lyricist Brett Macias.
Macias' songbook will be interpreted by Raja Burrows, Christine Danelson, Cicily Daniels, Celina Carvajal, Chris Critelli, Leah Horowitz, Macias, Chelsea Morgan Stock, Jennifer Noth, Ben Roseberry, Bryce Ryness, Brandi Varnell and Jeff Washburn.
The artists will be backed by musical director Brandon J. Ethridge on piano with Jeff Washburn on guitar, Joe Wallace on bass and Joshua Mark Samuels on percussion.
Brett Macias is a composer, lyricist and singer who received his BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Webster University. He has composed music for Webster University, Encores! (NYC), the St. Louis Repertory Theatre, and most recently for Cockeyed Optimist’s production of One Thing I’d Like to Say. As a graduate of the Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Program at NYU, he wrote the music for three additional musicals: Fishing The Moon (words by Caroline Murphy), The Lavatory (words by Frederick Sauter) and bomb (words by Caroline Murphy), which recently had a concert presentation at CAP21. In 2008 he was commissioned to write a new musical, Beneath the Surface, for the University of Colorado-Boulder (words by Caroline Murphy).
