Tony-nominated playwright Charles Busch will return to Feinstein's/54 Below June 10-11 at 7 PM. The evenings, entitled The Ultimate Playlist, will feature musical direction by Tom Judson.
Two-time MAC Award winner Busch told Playbill.com, “My charming musical director Tom Judson and I are celebrating our fourth year working together, 34th year as friends, by presenting our show The Ultimate Playlist, featuring our favorite numbers from our previous shows and premiering a couple of new tunes. This is our first New York show since we performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center in February and my return to the cabaret stage after my triumphant sold-out run of Cleopatra this spring.”
Audiences can expect everything from Jerome Kern’s “Bill” to “The Rainbow Connection.”
Busch is the author and star of such plays as The Divine Sister, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, The Tribute Artist and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, which ran for nearly two years on Broadway and received a Tony nomination for Best Play. He wrote and starred in the film versions of his plays Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, the latter of which won him the Best Performance Award at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2003 Busch received a special Drama Desk Award for career achievement as both performer and playwright. He is also the subject of the acclaimed documentary film, The Lady in Question Is Charles Busch.
