Each resident playwright has created a work based on one of the short stories from the playwright who began as a short-story author and later delivered such seminal stage works as Three Sisters, Ivanov, The Cherry Orchard and Uncle Vanya. Performances will continue through June 27.
The works included are Death of a Government Employee (based on "Death of a Government Clerk") by Jonathan Pereira, directed by Katrin Hilbe; In Country (based on "In a Country House") written and directed by Timothy Scott Harris; Joy (based on the short of the same name) by Robert Strozier, directed by Elena Araoz; Misery, Apathy and Despair (based on "An Artist's Story") by John Mc Kinney, directed by Richard Kent Green; and We'll Take a Cup of Kindness Yet (based on "Misery") by Scott Sickles, directed by David Gautschy.
Populating the short works will be Sutton Crawford, James Davies, Jed Dickson, Liz Forst, James Franchini, Dee Dee Friedman, Stephen Girasuolo, Michael Gnat, Carrie Edel Isaacman, Noah Keen, Carolinne Messihi, Mike Mihm, David M. Pincus, Amanda Sayle, Tracy Shar and Sean Singer.
Designing From Russia With Angst are Duane Pagano (lighting design), John Scheffler (scenic design) and David Schulder (sound and projection design).
