News Christian Campbell, Neal Huff and Kathryn Grody Set for Summer Shorts Festival Casting has been announced for the fifth annual Summer Shorts Festival of new plays, including works by Neil LaBute, Tina Howe and Christopher Durang.

The annual one-act play festival is presented in two separate series running in repertory Aug. 4-Sept. 3. Summer Shorts takes place at 59E59 Theaters. Throughline Artists (J.J. Kandel and John McCormack) presents the event.

Set to appear in the various plays are Mando Alvarado, Jeff Binder, Christian Campbell, James Chen, Nick Choksi, Erin Darke, Crystal Finn, Arthur French, Meg Gibson, Kathryn Grody, Beth Hoyt, Neal Huff, J.J. Kandel, Megan Ketch, Ted Koch, Jodie Markell, Shirley A. Rumierk, Socorro Santiago, Rebecca Schull, Ryan Cyrus Shams, Victor Slezak, Aidan Sullivan, Louise Sullivan, Maryann Towne, Ryan Tramont and Lydia Weintraub.

The previously announced plays include In This, Our Time…, by Alexander Dinelaris (Zanna Don’t, Still Life), directed by J.J. Kandel; Triple Trouble With Love, written and directed by Durang (Beyond Therapy, Marriage of Bette and Boo); Some Women In Their Thirties Simply Start To Fall, by Howe (Painting Churches, Coastal Disturbances), directed by Billy Hopkins; The New Testament, by LaBute (reasons to be pretty, Fat Pig), directed by Dolores Rice; The Green Book, written and directed by Will Scheffer ("Big Love); Clap Your Hands, by Keith Reddin (Rum and Coke), directed by Billy Hopkins; Lessons For An Unaccustomed Bride, by Rivera ("The Motorcycle Diaries", References To Salvador Dalí Make Me Hot ), directed by Jen Wineman; and Carrie & Francine, by 17-year-old Ruby Spiegel, directed by Laura Barnett.

All productions will have scenic design by George Xenos, costume design by Michael Bevins and lighting design by Greg MacPherson.
