As previously announced Chalfant, who received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Tony Kushner's Angels in America, will star as Miss Havisham in the world-premiere stage adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Adapted by Bathsheba Doran, the drama will begin previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre Nov. 8 with an official opening scheduled for Nov. 16. The limited engagement will play through Dec. 3.

Campbell will portray Pip, and the remainder of the cast includes Kenneth Boys as Pumblechook, Kristen Bush as Estella, Emily Donahoe as Biddy, John Joseph Gallagher as Magwich and Paul Niebanck as Joe. Will Pomerantz directs.

The design team for Great Expectations comprises Carol Bailey (scenic and costume design), Lenore Doxsee (lighting design) and Eric Shim (sound design). Michael Picton has composed incidental music for the production.

Great Expectations, according to press notes, follows "a young orphan boy through adulthood, navigating London’s society circles and his relationships with a wealthy woman and her haughty adopted daughter."

Christian Campbell starred in the Off-Broadway musical Reefer Madness and reprised his work in the Showtime movie version. He also appeared in the short-lived NBC television show "The Book of Daniel" and the ABC soap "All My Children." Other credits include the national tour of tick... tick... BOOM! as well as that show's London debut. Show times are Wednesdays at 2 PM, Thursdays at 10:30 AM, Fridays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 2 and 7 PM and Sundays at 1 and 4 PM. The Lucille Lortel Theatre is located at 121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets. Tickets for all shows are $25 and are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com.
