Meloni will be a series regular on the upcoming fifth season. He will play a powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) in his hands.
Meloni starred as Eddie in Ireland Gate Theatre's 2005 production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge. He is best known for his television credits, including NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" and HBO's "Oz." He will also be seen in the upcoming film "Superman: Man of Steel."
"True Blood" airs Sunday nights at 9 PM ET on HBO.
