News Cinderella's Douglas Offers Lucky to Be Me Nov. 15 at Birdland Singer-actress Suzzanne Douglas, who is currently appearing as the Fairy Godmother in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Cinderella, goes it solo at Birdland Nov. 15.

Douglas' evening — entitled Lucky to Be Me — is part of the month-long series of highlights from the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center’s Cabaret and Performance Conference that is being presented at the famed club. The 7 PM concert will celebrate the music of jazz artist Abbey Lincoln, who co-starred with Sidney Poitier in "For Love of Ivy." Ted Sod directs the evening, which features musical direction by Dr. Guy Ramsey. Jim Speake, a Cabaret Conference artist, will make a special guest appearance.

Suzzanne Douglas has appeared on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera, Into the Woods, The Tap Dance Kid, Sophisticated Ladies and A Grand Night for Singing. Her screen credits include "The Parent 'Hood'," "Law & Order: SVU," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "NYPD Blue," "Touched By an Angel," "I’ll Fly Away," "The Parkers," "Critical Condition," "Promised Land," "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," "Jason’s Lyric," "The Inkwell" and "I’ll Do Anything."
