The two-DVD set features Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney's two award-winning HBO specials — "Parallel Lives" and "The Dark Side" — which were based on the performers' long-running Off-Broadway hit. Footage from the women's private collections are also part of the DVD package, including clips from San Diego's Old Town Theatre, New York's Don't Tell Mama, Off-Broadway's Westside Arts Theatre and Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theatre. With a running time of 230 minutes, "The Complete Kathy & Mo Show" also includes promos for the original HBO specials and two new sketches that were recently taped at the Gay & Lesbian Center in Los Angeles.

Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney received Cable ACE Awards for their work in "The Dark Side" and "Parallel Lives" and an Obie Award for their Off-Broadway performances. They returned to the New York stage in 2004 with Afterbirth: Kathy and Mo's Greatest Hits.
