Max Friedman will direct the 7 PM and 9 PM concerts that will have musical direction by Charlie Rosen and lighting design by KJ Hardy.
Umphress (American Idiot, Priscilla, On a Clear Day...) and Smith (American Idiot, Godspell) will play April and Tom, respectively, in a cast that also features Andrew Kober (Hair) as Harvey, Hannah Elless (Godspell) as Tess, Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening) as Emma and Alex Brightman (Glory Days, Wicked) as Shawn.
Here's how it's billed: "A concert of songs from the new musical that charts the individual stories of six New Yorkers' lives over the course of six years. Throughout the show, the characters come together one by one and influence each other in profound and very unexpected ways. 6 explores how people affect the courses of each other’s lives — without knowing it — and often, without ever having met. Featuring an eclectic score blending elements of rock, pop, gospel, and contemporary theatre sounds, 6 tells each story through unique and compelling musical languages. In a city of strangers, we're all just 6 degrees away."
