The hour-long program will chronicle the recent adventures of actress Connie Fisher, who landed the leading role in the current West End revival of The Sound of Music via the television reality program "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" The TV special, according to the official BBC website, says "Connie Fisher's story starts backstage as she begins her journey from telesales girl to leading lady, culminating in a glittering opening night at the London Palladium."
The West End revival of The Sound of Music — starring Fisher as Maria von Trapp — began previews at the London Palladium Nov. 4. Directed by Jeremy Sams, the musical officially opened Nov. 14.
