The Olivier Award-winning play about ghost stories told at an Irish pub opens Feb. 20. J. Barry Lewis directs. *

"In rural Ireland," according to production notes, "local men swap spook stories in an attempt to impress a young woman who recently moved into a nearby 'haunted' house. The tables are soon turned when she tells a tale of her own and an innocent evening soon becomes a night of personal revelation."

The production team includes scenic designer Michael Amico, costume designer Brian O'Keefe and lighting designer Joseph P. Oshry.

The Weir premiered in London in 1997. After a successful run in the West End, it opened at The Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway to critical acclaim.

Conor McPherson won the Laurence Olivier Award in 1999 for The Weir. The Irish McPherson's work includes The Good Thief, Port Authority, Shining City and The Seafarer.
