News Crescent Theatre Company Risks Absurdity at Cherry Lane Oct. 7 The Crescent Theatre Company will present Constantly Risking Absurdity, a solo play starring Dietlinde Turban, at Cherry Lane Theatre Studio (38 Commerce Street) Oct. 7-Oct. 16.

The production weaves together selections from such disparate poets and authors as Samuel Beckett, Rainer Maria Rilke, Wallace Stevens, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Bertolt Brecht, Walt Whitman, Marge Piercy, Matthew Arnold, Charles Baudelaire, Ingeborg Bachmann, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Dante, Sylvia Plath, Franz Kafka, Paul Celan and Adrienne Rich. Turban, who has worked extensively in Europe and here makes her New York debut, plays a nameless woman who is herself a poet endeavoring to find meaning in her own life and work. The show was created and is directed by Christopher Rothwell.
