Tony winner Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple) will perform alongside Tony-winning composer Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Bridges of Madison County) in a sold-out engagement as part of his ongoing artistic residency at New York City’s SubCulture August 6.
Tickets are currently on sale for Brown’s two upcoming residencies September 17 and October 20; guest artists have not yet been announced. Previous ticketholders and SubCulture mailing list subscribers receive advance notice of ticket on-sale dates and guest artist announcements.
Erivo previously joined Brown at SubCulture in 2015; it marked her U.S. debut prior to The Color Purple. She and Tony nominee Joshua Henry later performed a one-night-only concert of Brown’s The Last Five Years at Town Hall as a fundraiser for the Brady Campaign.
Each month, Brown performs at SubCulture with a different musical guest. Past guests have included Sutton Foster, Gavin Creel, Kelli O’Hara, Mykal Kilgore, Stephen Schwartz, Tom Kitt, Norbert Leo Butz, Chris Jackson, Andréa Burns, Jessica Vosk, and Todrick Hall.
