News Darlene Love Will Record Songs by Bruce Springsteen, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and More On New CD Darlene Love, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee who has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray, is at work on a new album that will be produced by Steve van Zandt of the E Street Band, according to Showbiz411.com.

A host of legendary songwriters are penning new tunes for Love, who was featured in the Academy Award-winning documentary "20 Feet to Stardom."

Contributors will include Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and, possibly, Carole King.

The new recording will be available on van Zandt's label; a release date has yet to be announced.

Actress-singer Darlene Love, whose pop hits included the sixties classics as "He's a Rebel," has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray, Grease, Leader of the Pack and the cult classic Carrie. She was also nominated to the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame. Love's screen credits include "Shindig!," "Change of Habit," "Another World" and all four "Lethal Weapon" films. Her most recent recordings are titled "Age of Miracles" and "Unconditional Love."
