The New York Times reports that the production, which will begin rehearsals Oct. 26, will officially open Dec. 10.

Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Steve Traxler will produce Race. About the play, Richards told the Times, "I think the title speaks for itself. . . It's a great new work by Mamet."

Race will arrive on Broadway without an out-of-town tryout.

Mamet was represented on Broadway earlier this season with revivals of American Buffalo and the much-in-the-news Speed-the-Plow.

A founder of the Atlantic Theater Company, David Mamet's principal works include The Duck Variations, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross (Pulitzer Prize), Boston Marriage, Edmond, Oleanna, Speed-the-Plow and The Cryptogram (Obie Award). He adapted The Voysey Inheritance for the Atlantic and was also represented on Broadway with the political comedy November.
