The 7 PM concert, with special guests to be announced, will feature music from NAMT-nurtured musicals including The Drowsy Chaperone, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Honk!, Children of Eden, among others.
Brian Hargrove and musical director Bard Haak will collaborate with Zippel (City of Angels, The Goodbye Girl) on the evening.
The benefit concert will be the culmination of NAMT's 25th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Presented Oct. 17-18 in Manhattan, the annual weekend of musical theatre provides a platform for emerging and established theatre writers to showcase their works with casts featuring Broadway and Off-Broadway actors. Many of the new works find life at regional companies, as well as Off-Broadway and on Broadway. Betsy King Militello is the executive director of NAMT.
