News Day-Long 2005 Wall to Wall Sondheim Concert Streams Online March 22 Symphony Space celebrates the 80th birthday of Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim March 22 with a rebroadcast of the 12-hour Wall to Wall Sondheim concert that took place in 2005.

Beginning at 11 AM, Symphony Space will the webcast the day-long concert that will be aired in its entirety. The 2005 concert was presented in honor of Sondheim's 75th birthday.

Wall to Wall Sondheim played to a packed house at the New York landmark, with lines of theatre fans wrapped around the block hoping for the chance to witness Broadway veterans performing the composer's work. A recording was produced in 2006 featuring only 17 songs from the event.

Stephen Sondheim, who began his Broadway career as a lyricist for West Side Story and Gypsy, made his debut as a composer/lyricist in 1962 with A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Along with collaborators including Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, James Goldman, George Furth, James Lapine, John Weidman and Harold Prince, Sondheim revolutionized the face of musical theatre with Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Pacific Overtures, Anyone Can Whistle, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park with George, Assassins, Into the Woods, Passion and Road Show.
