Classic Stage Company has announced complete casting for the world premiere of Dead Poets Society, a new play based on the 1989 film, to be helmed by Tony winner John Doyle. The company announced earlier this year that Jason Sudeikis will star as professor John Keating in the Off-Broadway staging.

He will be joined by Francesca Carpanini as Chris, David Garrison as Mr. Nolan, William Hochman as Knox Overstreet, Cody Kostro as Charlie Dalton, Yaron Lotan as Richard Cameron, Thomas Mann as Neil Perry, Zane Pais as Todd Anderson, Stephen Barker Turner as Mr. Perry and Bubba Weiler as Steven Meeks.

Written by Oscar winner Tom Schulman, adapted from his screenplay, the new work is set to begin previews October 27 at CSC and will officially open November 17.

The Dead Poets Society film starred the late Robin Williams in the role of Keating, an unconventional teacher who inspires his students at a strict, all-boys preparatory school. I'm thrilled that Jason Sudeikis is taking on this iconic role in Dead Poets Society,“ commented Doyle in an earlier statement. “I felt it important that we find an actor like Jason who brings a fresh perspective, and all at CSC are delighted that he will be joining us for this unique venture.“
