Over 50 cities will get a taste of 2017’s Tony-winning Best Musical in the coming years. The upcoming national tour of Dear Evan Hansen will play Chicago, Los Angeles, Buffalo, New York, Charlotte, North Carolina, and more.
As previously announced, the two-year tour will kick off at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ Buell Theatre (where Frozen is currently playing its pre-Broadway engagement) in October 2018.
Specific dates, additional cities, and casting for the tour will be announced at a later date.
In addition to winning Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen earned Tony Awards for its title star Ben Platt, his co-star Rachel Bay Jones, composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book writer Steven Levenson, and orchestrator Alex Lacamoire.
Platt will take his final bow at Broadway’s Music Box Theatre November 19; Noah Galvin will assume the title role November 21, with Taylor Trensch taking over in January 2018.
